Overcoming Food Addiction

Addicted to eating? Just can’t stop? Oh, most of us are there and know how it feels.

Nothing, absolutely nothing can stop you from eating and doing what you wish to unless you are determined. You need to first have that determination to lose weight and watch your eating habits. If you don’t, no amount of help will be of any help to you.

Are you really concerned about your health? Do you really want to break your food addiction and start eating properly? Then, this one is for you. Read on for three helpful steps:

  1. Keep a track of what you eat. A journal will do wonders for you. Remember to mention even your beverage intake. Why? Because it is FOOD. Anything besides water is food. You need to keep a track of it. Another thing to do would be to track your weight in the morning and the evening. You will understand how your body works. You could also track your weight and keep a log for further assistance.
  2. Keeping a journal is not enough. Of course, it will help you but you should go a step further. How? You should review your journal every now and then. When you review, you will find out how much you ate over the holidays. Soon you will realize that you came under the influence of many people to eat. You ate because others ate. The only reason for you to eat is hunger. Nothing else. When you review your journal and the realization sets in, you will watch what you eat for sure.
  3. While eating, you should be careful and slow. You shouldn’t gobble up your food. You should eat slowly and every bite should be small. When you pay attention to what you eat, you will automatically eat less. Simple human psychology.
